By Steve K
A call to anyone who owns, runs, or works for an addiction recovery treatment facility/organisation: I am seeking employment as an addiction recovery counsellor, therapist, or mentor. I am willing to relocate for the right opportunity and for employment in alignment with my values.
My approach to supporting others is integrative, combining a person-centred foundation with cognitive-behavioural tools and strategies. I am willing to support each person in relation to their preferred recovery pathway, recognising that there is no single approach that works for everyone.
I aim to provide a safe, confidential, and supportive therapeutic relationship where people can explore issues that maybe difficult to talk about, including those connected with addiction, trauma, and harmful behaviour patterns. I can help with:
- strengthening motivation and commitment to change
- managing urges and cravings
- processing difficult thoughts, feelings, and behaviours
- developing healthier coping strategies
- increasing self-awareness and self-compassion
My approach emphasises self-empowerment, personal responsibility, emotional insight, and the development of a healthier and more fulfilling life.
