The Reality of Addiction Recovery is More Positive Than We Might Think

  1. Thank you, Dr. Best, for your distinctions. Most providers can not distinguish sobriety (what the cop measures with a breathalyzer), from abstinence (which may be intentional); from recovery which is an intentional lifestyle of healing and continuously wholistic growth. No wonder our patients and their loved ones are unsure what expectations and outcomes are realistic. Your evidence-based promotion of remission in recovery is so useful, and much needed. Thank, David.
